This fundraising challenge is a truly unique five-star event that fosters friendship, teamwork and the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. On September 12, 2009, celebrities, athletes, individuals with intellectual disabilities, and people just like you, will take the challenge, and come together on bike and on foot to make a difference and change lives.
It’s much more than a ride, a run, or a walk. It’s an experience. With VIP treatment along the way, and a private concert, gourmet BBQ and party at the finish, the Audi Best Buddies Challenge is an experience of a lifetime!
Participants choose from four options for distance: 100 Miles, 62 Miles, 35 Miles or 15 Miles. No matter what distance you choose, you’ll enjoy magnificent views biking along the Pacific Coast Highway route, fully supported from Carmel all the way to San Simeon. For those who do not wish to ride, they can still join in the fun at our 5k run and 3k walk led by Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis at the finish area alongside the beach in San Simeon!
The most distinctive and fun part of the Audi Best Buddies Challenge is our post-ride and walk party. With a gourmet BBQ, dancing, and a star studded concert on the Hearst Ranch, what could be a better way to toast to such an accomplishment and to this important cause!
The Challenge is about changing lives. Participants commit to raise important funds to benefit Best Buddies, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment.
